Frequently Asked Questions about Home brew Competition:

Q: What type of contest is the home brew?
A: The contest is an ale contest so be sure to be creative and experimental in your ales! No lagers or sours will be accepted. Different varieties of ale’s will be great!

Q: What do I win if I place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd?
A: 1st place will win $250 in cash, 2nd place will win $100 in cash, and 3rd place will win $50 in cash. Each winner will also receive a trophy and a Cold Water Brewery gift card.

Q: Who is judging the competition?
A: There will be 5 judges from the craft brew industry that will be nameless until after the competition so that they remain anonymous.

Q: Do I need to be there from 12-5pm?
A: No, home brewer’s will not be pouring their own beer so that they can enjoy the festival in it’s entirety. The Tahoe Brewfest will have volunteers that will describe the beer to 100 home brew attendees.

Q: What is the description on the 3×5 card for?
A: This description will allow our volunteers to accurately describe, to attendees, what each beer is. Since the home brewer’s will not be pouring their own beer, this is their voice coming through the volunteers.

Q: How many bottles do we need to turn in?
A: You must turn in at least 22, 22 oz. beer bottles of Ale to Cold Water Brewery between June 5th-June 8th by 8pm.

Q: Why do I need to turn in an $100 deposit?
A: This is just our way of insuring that home brewer’s will show up with their product. If product is dropped off and set up on the morning of the event (by 11am), the $100 deposit will be refunded in full through PayPal.

    I authorize the verification of the information provided on this form is correct and agree to pay the Vendor application fee. I understand that by signing this paper, I am in a contract with the organizers of the Brewfest to participate in the 2017 Tahoe Brewfest on June 10th, 2017 from 12pm-5pm. As a vendor, I understand that I must set up my station no later than 11am on the day of the event and agree to Leave-No-Trace upon exiting this event. Breakdown of booths will begin at 5pm and will be cleaned up by 6pm. I agree to comply with all Rules & Regulations for the Tahoe Brewfest of 2017.
